Top 5 strongest everyday energyboosters

What do we need in our everyday lives to make us ready for our daily responsibilities, or to keep us stimulated for our daily fitness training? Not so many complicated things, as a matter of fact.

We need to:

  • Stay healthy,
  • Keep the good mood,
  • Andset our goals smartly!

Of course, it sounds easier in theory than it actually is in practice, but there are some things that might help you to stay focused, and both physically and mentally stimulated. We don`t want to convince you to buy some exotic products or to make a recipe with expensive ingredients. On the contrary, we talk about natural things, the products we use every day, and which are available to everyone.

1. WATER

This was an obvious one. The water is one of the best energyboosters, and a natural product which is number one MUST HAVE products for your body to stay healthy and fit.

People seem to carry a bottle of water everywhere for a few last years because of the propaganda which made people think that “eight glasses a day” rule is the only way to stay hydrated. It is not the quite true, but that doesn`t reduce the effect the water has on a human organism. “Think of water as a nutrient your body needs that is present in liquids, plain water, and foods. All of these are essential daily to replace the large amounts of water lost each day,” explained Joan Koelemay, a dietitian for the Beverage Institute. If an amount of water you lost through breathing, sweat, urine, and stool is not replaced – it is considered that your body was dehydrated. A dehydrated body has no enough energy for work, training, or sex. Symptoms of dehydration are:

  • Sleepiness or tiredness
  • Dry, sticky mouth, lips, and dry eyes
  • Constipation
  • Headache

Water will also help you lose your weight, so if you have a plan to get fit & beautiful, drink this natural super product every day. You can even install some of those apps to remind you to take water, or you can simply always listen to your body – every time you are thirsty, drink! “What works with weight loss is if you choose water or a non-caloric beverage over a caloric beverage and/or eat a diet higher in water-rich foods that are healthier, more filling, and help you trim calorie intake,” says researcher Ph.D. Barbara Rolls, the author of The Volumetric Weight Control Plan.

But let`s clear one thing, the water has no calories, so it cannot give you that kind of energy you can get through protein sources products. The consumption of water will boost your energy if your body is dehydrated, because, believe it or not, 2% dehydration can have the negative effect on your energy levels.  So, to summarize, the water will indirectly give you the energy you need every day, it will keep you healthy, fit & in the good mood.

2.COFFEE

Yes, the black goddess is considered to be a perfect pre-workout beverage! Believe it or not, many fitness trainers will recommend you to have a cup of coffee before you get into gym, because it will help you on many levels.

First of all, coffee will accelerate the fat loss. How? If you have a coffee before your workout, it will cause fat cells to be used as an energy source. How nice is that, isn`t it? A coffee uses the fat you want to reduce into a precious energy you need for your training. It also improves your mental energy, so it helps you to stay focused while you are exercising; it makes you faster and smarter.

People, who work hardly, stay awake until late night and wake up early – are surely already familiar with all benefits this dark & soft beverage can have on the energy level. Caffeine is a natural substance found in:

  • coffee
  • tea
  • soft drinks
  • chocolate

And it is known to boost the effects of the body neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine. Why is that important?

The serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) is a chemical which is tightly connected with a sense of wellbeing. It regulates cyclic body processes, maintains the mood balance, and it literally makes you happier. The deficit of serotonin is considered to lead to depression. It is also thought that the serotonin is related to social behavior, memory, appetite, digestion, sexual desire and sexual function.

The other neurotransmitter boosted by caffeine is dopamine. Just like serotonin, this chemical also has very positive effect on physical and mental health. It creates the sense of pleasure in the brain, so, logically, it is released during some pleasurable situations like eating tasty food, having sex, taking several drugs of abuse, and – drinking coffee. The drug addiction is tightly connected to dopamine because people actually get addicted to an increased level of dopamine in the brain. How can caffeine help you by boost the dopamine? It will make you easier to move, exercise; it will make easier to you to learn, work, concentrate and memorize.

Summarized, a cup of dark hot coffee will boost you physical and mental energy level. In 100g of coffee, there are only 0, 5 calories! It`s the milk and sugar which sabotage your weight loss, coffee can never do that.

3CHOCOLATE

This is another source of caffeine which will boost your energy. You should consider taking a chocolate bar around the noon instead of taking another coffee just a few hours after the first one. Despite all bad sided this sweet pleasure can have on your body (especially on your look), it is actually a pretty beneficial product. Of course, you should have it in the normal amount, two or three times a week because 100g of chocolate has around 545, 6 calories.

It is true what you`ve heard – the darker the better. The darker chocolate has better antioxidant effects on your body. It can control your blood pressure, and neutralize free radicals (which damage cells and contribute to cancer).

And why the chocolate is considered to be an excellent energy booster? “Cocoa is high in caffeine – as is dark chocolate owing to its high cocoa content – and there is little dispute that caffeine perks you up. It works on the central nervous system and reduces feelings of fatigue and increase alertness.”” explains Dr. Glen Davison, a researcher in exercise physiology and nutrition at the University of Kent

4.NUTS

Forget about complicated recipes for some diet cookies, you only need a hand full of nuts! Eat them raw for the best results.

Nuts are number one natural product which can convert sugar into energy. So, practically, you can eat them every day like snacks; they are very tasty, they won`t make you fat, and there are many kinds of nuts, so they won`t bore you. Nutshave high protein level, omega-3s, and the energy boosting B and E vitamins! They are rich in minerals like magnesium and potassium, chemicals which will also contribute to your energy level.

Here is the chart where you can see which types of nuts are richest or poorest in calories, fat, carbs and protein, so you can decide what type is the best for you. In the chart there are not all kinds of nuts.

Regarding the fiber, a plant-based nutrient that can help you lower cholesterol level, keep your blood pressure and sugar stable, and of course,  it makes easier to lose weight – almonds have the most fiber (12%, or 12 g/100g) and cashews and pine nuts the least (3-4%, or 3-4g/100g).

5. SLEEP

Ok, so this is pretty simple to say, and maybe the most difficult to have among all the things on this list. To have enough sleep can make almost everything better. Sleep is tightly related to your look (and also weight), your health, and your mood balance.

How to sleep better?

  • Keep your room cool – some experiments have shown that is a lot healthier sleeping in a cold room; it also makes it easier to wake up in the morning
  • Have a routine before going to sleep – a nice hot bath or a cup of herbal tea will suit you well; just find what makes you relaxed and stick to it
  • Keep your room dark – even if you go to toilet in the middle of the night, try not to expose yourself to strong light because it will make harder to get back to sleep afterward
  • Try to avoid alcohol before bedtime – maybe it will be easier for you to fall asleep after one glass of wine, but scientists proved that your body will not be relaxed enough to relax, refresh and to boost enough energy for the next day.

On the other hand, if you`re going to bed at a reasonable time, you are tired but you can`t fall asleep, and you`re eating, drinking, and exercising normally than you should consult your doctor before you decide to start with some sleeping pills on your own! Remember that healthy and normal sleep is one of the most important things your body needs to keep its energy levels high.

Here are some more short tips for boosting your energy:

  • Avoid smoking – cigarettes can cause insomnia;the nicotine is a stimulant, so it speeds the heart rate, raises blood pressure, and increase wakefulness
  • Reduce your TO DO list – let`s be honest, you don`t have to do all those things in 24h indeed; don`t overwork, don`t get overtired
  • Exercise – sleep – wake up energized, happy & healthy – repeat!
